Does OutTa Timber offer custom-designed resin river tables in Melbourne? Yes. Custom resin river tables are a core specialty. You'll work one-on-one to select your slab, resin colour, dimensions, and finish.
CNC engraving and detailed cut work can also be incorporated, allowing for highly personalised designs beyond standard table builds.
Can I commission a bespoke live-edge coffee table? Yes. Live-edge coffee tables are built to order, with full control over timber selection, size, and base design. Each piece is crafted to highlight the natural grain and character of the wood.

Custom Orders & Process
How do I start a custom furniture project? Get in touch with your idea, dimensions, or inspiration. From there, you'll go through a guided one-on-one process covering design, timber selection, sizing, and finishes.
Can I choose the exact timber slab for my piece? Yes. Where possible, you'll be involved in selecting the slab so you know exactly what your final piece will look like.
Can I customise the size, shape, and finish? Yes. Every piece is made to order, allowing full control over dimensions, form, and finishing details.
Can you match or recreate an existing furniture design? Yes. Existing designs can be replicated or adapted while maintaining a handcrafted, high-quality finish.
How much does a custom piece cost? Pricing depends on size, timber type, and complexity. Resin river tables typically range from around $600 to $2,600 — many pieces are cast thicker than standard to let more of the resin's depth and colour show through, which adds to the cost but delivers a more striking result. Get in touch with your idea and dimensions for a tailored quote.
Do you require a deposit?" For custom orders up to $1,800, I require full payment upfront. For orders between $1,800 and $3,000, I ask for a 50% deposit. For larger builds over $3,000, it's 75% upfront. Stock items are paid in full at time of purchase.
Is the consultation in person or online? Consultations are held at the factory — this is the best way to see materials in person and talk through design options and finishes face to face.
Resin & Design Options
Can I choose the resin colour and style? Yes. Resin colour, transparency, and effects are fully customisable — from subtle natural tones to bold statement finishes.

Can I order other custom timber pieces beyond tables? Yes. In addition to tables, you can commission wall features, decorative panels, fretwork, engravings, and other bespoke timber designs.
Do you make smaller items, or only large furniture pieces? Yes — alongside larger furniture, smaller pieces are available too. Custom chess pieces (set of 16) start from $25, chess boards from $250, and side tables from $199.
Quality, Materials & Delivery
What types of timber are used? A range of high-quality timbers is used depending on the project, selected for durability, grain, and visual impact.
Are your pieces sealed and protected? Yes. All pieces are finished with durable, high-quality coatings to protect the timber and enhance its natural features.
Do you use reclaimed timber? Reclaimed timber can be used depending on availability, offering a more sustainable option with added character.
Do you deliver across Melbourne and Australia? Yes. Delivery can be arranged across Melbourne and Australia depending on the size and requirements of the piece.
Can these pieces be used outdoors? Timber is best kept away from ongoing weather exposure, though short-term outdoor use is fine. The same applies to sun — occasional exposure is okay, but pieces shouldn't be left in direct sun permanently.
How do I care for a resin or timber piece? A glass cleaner or dishwashing liquid is all that's needed for regular cleaning. One of the best non-yellowing resins available is used in every build, so pieces hold their clarity and colour well over time — many are now over a year old and still look as good as new.
"What happens if there's an issue with my piece?" If there's a problem with your piece, get in touch as soon as possible.
Transit damage — let me know within 12 days of delivery with photos, so I can make a claim.
Overstock returns — accepted within 21 days of delivery; a stocking fee may apply.
New custom builds — covered for 31 days from delivery.
Outside these windows I'm still happy to chat, but I can't guarantee a resolution.
Timing & Expectations
How long does a custom piece take to make? Timeframes vary by project. Most made-to-order pieces are completed within 21 days.
Resin table projects typically take 8–10 weeks after slab selection due to curing and finishing processes, with a direct timeline confirmed at the time of purchase.
Is every piece unique? Yes. Natural variations in timber ensure every piece is unique.
The exception is CNC-based work, where designs can be reproduced with precision if required.

I was the only one who built it differently.
That wasn't rebellion. That was instinct. And that instinct still drives everything I create today.
Learning the Hard Way — By Hand, Then By Machine
Before I ever touched CAD/CAM software, I was working in DOS — punching in X, Y, Z coordinates by hand, line by line, just to get a machine to move where I needed it to. There was no shortcut. You had to actually understand what the machine was doing, because you were the one telling it, coordinate by coordinate.
I started simple. Basic projects, small parts, learning the limits. But it didn't take long before I was pushing past them. Seasoned CNC operators — people who'd been running machines for years — started telling me I was working outside the normal operational limits of the equipment. Ahead of what the machines were "supposed" to do.
That mindset — question the limit, don't just accept it — has never left me.
Understanding Timber From the Inside Out
Long before I was building finished pieces, part of my job was pulling them apart.
I'd trial different joinery combinations — glue on its own, glue with screws, glue with nails, clamps with no fasteners, clamps then screws, clamps then nails — cure each one for 48 hours, then break it apart to see exactly how and where it failed.
It wasn't glamorous work. But it taught me something you can't learn any other way: not just how to join timber, but why a joint holds — and exactly where it won't. That understanding is in every piece I build today.

What started as abstract art and woodworking turned into something much bigger.

OutTa Timber: Natural, Timeless, and Unforgettable Bespoke Creations
Shipping, Handling & Warranty
At OutTa Timber, every piece is handcrafted with care, and I take great precautions to ensure your order arrives safely. Due to the size, weight, and bespoke nature of these pieces, shipping and handling require special attention. Different products — tables versus other items — may need different packaging precautions, but every piece gets the same level of care.
1. Standard Shipping
Most pieces, including river resin tables, are approximately 1250mm long, 650mm wide, and 500mm high, and can weigh over 50kg.
Standard shipping includes professional packaging and freight to ensure safe delivery. I take every precaution, though not all accidents in transit can be foreseen.
Delivery times vary by location, and tracking details are provided once dispatched.
Delays can occur due to natural events or other circumstances beyond my control. Once an item is with a freight carrier, transit time is in their hands, though I'll help track it wherever I can.
2. Oversized & Heavy Items
Some pieces exceed standard dimensions or weight limits and require special handling — freight carriers with tail-lift trucks, or crated shipping for added protection.
Additional shipping fees may apply based on size, weight, and destination.
3. Delivery & Access Considerations
Please make sure your delivery location can accommodate large items. If you can help on your end, let me know — it may reduce hire costs for equipment like tail-lift trucks.
If special access is needed (stairs, narrow hallways, rural areas), let me know in advance so I can arrange suitable delivery.
4. Shipping Costs
Local pickup from the workshop is always free.
Local delivery is also free within the Melbourne metro area and a little beyond — get in touch, as something may be workable depending on your location.
For deliveries outside the local area, shipping costs are calculated by size, weight, and destination, and freight charges apply.
Some items have fixed shipping rates to major Australian cities, delivered to a local freight depot — get in touch to see if this works for you.
A shipping estimate is provided at checkout or after discussing custom orders. For international shipping, get in touch for a quote.
5. Packaging & Handling
Each piece is securely packed to prevent damage in transit, with protective wrapping, custom crates, or reinforced packaging used depending on size and fragility.
6. Shipping Insurance
All shipments include basic insurance for transit damage. For high-value items, additional insurance is recommended.
7. Deposits
Custom orders up to $1,800 — full payment required upfront
Custom orders $1,800–$3,000 — 50% deposit
Custom orders over $3,000 — 75% deposit
Stock items — paid in full at time of purchase
8. Warranty & Returns
Transit Damage — If your item arrives damaged, let me know within 12 days of delivery with clear photos of the damage and packaging, so I can make a claim with the carrier. After 12 days I'm still happy to discuss it, but a resolution isn't guaranteed.
Overstock Returns — Overstock items can be returned within 21 days of delivery. A stocking fee may apply. After 21 days, get in touch and we'll talk through your options.
New Custom Builds — New custom tables have a 31-day claim window from delivery. Beyond that, reach out and I'll do what I can. If a piece needs to be sent back, shipping costs are the customer's responsibility unless the issue was my fault.
What's covered — I stand behind my workmanship for the windows above. If a fault is a genuine manufacturing defect — something wrong with how the piece was made, not how it's been used — I'll repair or replace it at no cost to you.
What's not covered — Natural movement in solid timber (bowing, cupping, minor shifts as the wood settles); colour changes from sunlight or temperature swings; normal wear and tear; damage from misuse, accidents, or neglect; scratches or chips picked up after delivery; pieces stored with a third party, moved overseas, or modified after delivery; components not made by me; freight costs to send a piece back for assessment; and damage from events beyond my control (fire, flood, and the like).
9. Local Pickup & Custom Delivery
Free local pickup from the workshop, by appointment, based on workshop hours.
Free local delivery within the metro area and a little beyond — get in touch, as something may be workable if you're close by.
Some items have fixed shipping rates to major Australian cities via a local depot.
For deliveries further afield, freight or courier charges apply based on distance and item size.
